Joggers
at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., have an easier time running on the jogging
trail at night. Seventeen SOLŪ solar powered lights were installed. Master
Sgt. Don Curry, Base Energy Manager, came up with the idea for solar powered
lights. He said he preferred them over electric lights. "The difference between
solar and electric lights is that electric lights need transformers and buried
cables. Solar lights are charged by the sun light and at night run on their
own batteries."
